Marko Milosavljević je izredni profesor na Oddelku za novinarstvo na Fakulteti za družbene vede Univerze v Ljubljani. Je član osrednje skupine strokovnjakov za medije in kulturo, kjer svetuje Evropski komisiji, in predsednik oddelka za zakonodajo in politiko komunikacij pri Evropskem združenju za raziskave in izobraževanje v komunikaciji (ECREA). Marko je član projekta EMBEDDIA Horizon2020, ki raziskuje umetno inteligenco v medijih in uredništvih.

Njegovo raziskovanje medijev, novinarstva in medijske politike v Sloveniji in EU je bilo objavljeno v knjigah in znanstvenih revijah v ZDA, Nemčiji, Franciji, Veliki Britaniji, na Norveškem, v Avstriji, Bolgariji, na Hrvaškem in na Nizozemskem. Je soavtor knjige Medijska politika v Sloveniji v devetdesetih letih – ureditev, privatizacija, koncentracija in komercializacija medijev.

Je član strokovne skupine na slovenskem ministrstvu za kulturo, ki je sprejela nov zakon o množičnih medijih. Bil je predsednik Strokovne komisije za pluralizacijo medijev na Ministrstvu za kulturo (2009–2010), član strokovne skupine za novi zakon o množičnih medijih (2009 in 2018) in Zakon o javni radioteleviziji (2009) pri Ministrstvu za kulturo. Od leta 2010 je član strateškega sveta za informacijsko družbo.

Marko Milosavljević is an associate professor at the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is a member of the Core Experts Group for Media and Culture, advising European Commission, and the chair of Communications Law and Policy section of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA). Marko is a member of Horizon2020 project EMBEDDIA, researching artificial intelligence in the media and newsrooms.

His research of media, journalism, and media policy in Slovenia and EU was published in books and scientific journals in the United States, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Norway, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia and the Netherlands. He is a co-author of the book Media Policy in Slovenia in the 1990s – Regulation, privatization, concentration and commercialization of the media.  

He is a member of the experts group at the Slovenian Ministry of Culture, adopting new Mass Media Act. He was a chairman of the Expert commission for Pluralisation of Media at Slovenian Ministry of Culture (2009-2010), a member of Experts’ group for new Mass Media Act (2009 and 2018) and Public Broadcasting Act (2009) at Slovenian Ministry of Culture, and a member of the National Committee for Information Society since 2010.
