Martina Vuk je univerzitetna diplomirana pravnica. Takoj po diplomi se je zaposlila na takratnem Ministrstvu za šolstvo in šport, v Sektorju za izobraževanje odraslih, nato pa se je ob področju dela osredotočila zlasti na področja družine, socialnih zadev, invalidov ter zdravja in človekovih pravic. Zadnja štiri leta in pol je v dveh vladah opravljala delo državne sekretarke na Ministrstvu za delo, družino, socialne zadeve in enake možnosti. Petnajst let je tudi aktivno delovala na mladinski sceni, bila je podpredsednica Mladinskega sveta Slovenije. Sodelovala je z različnimi nevladnimi organizacijami, predvsem na področju človekovih pravic in enakosti spolov ter delovala kot trenerka za človekove pravice s certifikatom Sveta Evrope. Zadnja tri leta je predsednica Ženskega foruma SD.

Martina Vuk holds a university degree in law. She joined the Adult Education Division of the then Ministry of Education and Sports immediately after graduation. In the following years, she worked in the areas of work, family, social affairs, people with different abilities, and health and human rights. For the past four and a half years, under two Governments, she worked as a state secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. She was also actively engaged in youth activities , she was Vice-President of the National Youth Council of Slovenia. As a Council of Europe certified trainer in human rights, she worked with various non-government organisations, in particular on promoting human rights and gender equality. For the past three years she has been heading the Women’s Forum of the Social Democrats.
