Dr. Irena Šumi je antropologinja, ukvarja se z antropologijo etničnosti, nacionalizma in mejnosti, rasizmi in antisemitzmom, antropologijo postkolonije in postsocializma. Vodila je 23 domačih in tujih raziskovalnih in ekspertnih projektov. Objavlja v uglednih znanstvenih revijah, njene knjige pa so prevedene v nekatere tuje jezike.

Kot docentka poučuje različne predmete na Fakulteti za socialno delo Univerze v Ljubljani, predava na Univerzi Donau v Kremsu in ASH v Berlinu.

Dr Irena Šumi is an anthropologist researching the anthropology of ethics, nationalism, borders and boundaries; racism and antisemitism; post-colonial and post-social anthropological enterprises. She has been head of 23 research and expert projects at home and abroad; published in renowned science journals and has books translated into several languages.

Šumi is assistant professor for several courses at the Faculty for Social Work at the University of Ljubljana, and a lecturer at the Donau University in Krems and ASH in Berlin.
