Dr. Tanja Petrović se ukvarja s pomeni in rabami jugoslovanske in socialistične dediščine v postjugoslovanskih družbah, kot tudi kulturnimi, jezikovnimi, političnimi in družbenimi procesi, ki oblikujejo realnost teh družb. Poglablja se v vrsto vprašanj, med katerimi so vloga jezika v oblikovanju ideologij, spomina in identitet, zgodovine dela in spola v post-jugoslovanskem prostoru, razmerje med spominom, dediščino in zgodovinopisnimi pripovedi o jugoslovanskem socializmu. Objavila je številne znanstvene članke in nekaj monografij s področja antropologije post-socializma, spominskih študij, študij spola, študij dediščine, lingvistične antropologije in zgodovine dela. Je predstojnica Inštituta za kulturne in spominske študije ZRC SAZU in redna profesorica na Podiplomski šoli ZRC SAZU.

Dr Tanja Petrović deals with the meanings and uses of Yugoslav and socialist heritage in post-Yugoslav societies, as well as the cultural, linguistic, political and social processes that shape the reality of these societies. She delves into a range of issues, including the role of language in shaping ideologies, memory and identities, the history of work and gender in the post-Yugoslav space, the relationship between memory, heritage and historiographical narratives of Yugoslav socialism. She has published numerous scholarly articles and several monographs in the fields of anthropology of postsocialism, memory studies, gender studies, heritage studies, linguistic anthropology, and labor history. She is the head of the Institute for Cultural and Memorial Studies at ZRC SAZU and full professor at the Postgraduate School of ZRC SAZU.
