Nika Kovač is an anthropologist and sociologist. In her research, she studies various societal subordinations through the prism of gender – her master’s thesis was based on an analysis of the right to freely decide on the birth of children through practice. She is the director of the 8. marec (8th of March) Institute, which has recently been the driving force behind several success stories of civil society engagement – both the launch of the #metoo campaign, the redefinition of rape in line with the consent principle “yes means yes,” as well as the campaign against the changes in Water Law.
