Kim Komljanec je po diplomi Filozofske fakultete Univerze v Ljubljani (slovenistika in francistika) magistrirala iz dramskega pisanja in dramaturgije na Univerzi v Exetru, ZK. Svojo profesionalno pot je začela v KUD-u France Prešeren Trnovo, nadaljevala v Slovenskem ljudskem gledališču v Celju, nato pa desetletje in pol delala kot samozaposlena v kulturi. Sodelovala je na mednarodni rezidenci za dramske pisce v prestižnem gledališču Royal Court v Londonu, kasneje pa v Cambridgeu prevzela umetniško vodenje foruma dramskih piscev in gledališča WRiTEON.

Kim je avtorica številnih dramskih besedil in radijskih iger, scenarijev za televizijske nadaljevanke (RTV Slovenija) in nekaj malega za film. Aktivna je tudi v Združenju dramskih umetnikov Slovenije, kjer je leta 2019 ustanovila enoto za dramske pisateljice in pisatelje, katere vodja je bila do  nedavnega.

After graduating from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana (Slovene and French Studies), Kim Komljanec obtained a Master’s Degree in Playwriting and Dramaturgy at the University of Exeter, UK. She began her professional career at KUD France Prešeren Trnovo, continued at the Slovenian Folk Theater in Celje, and then worked as a self-employed person in culture for a decade and a half. She participated in an international residency for playwrights at the prestigious Royal Court Theater in London, and later took over the artistic direction of the playwrights’ forum and theater WRiTEON in Cambridge.

Kim is the author of many dramatic texts and radio plays, scripts for television serials (RTV Slovenia) and a few for film. She is also active in the Slovenian Association of Dramatic Artists, where in 2019 she founded a unit for playwrights, which she headed until recently.
