Emotional AI and the Automation of Industrial Psychology / Emocionalna umetna inteligenca in avtomatizacija industrijske psihologije

The boundaries of personal space and the body are being tested by applications sensitive to emotional life in worn, domestic and public capacities. The goal is to automate and conduct datafied consumer psychology in real-time. This raises questions about the issues of privacy, dignity, civic life, moral limits, regulation, law and the overall desirability of profiling emotional life. Assessing commercial uses of computer vision, affective computing, machine learning and emotional artificial intelligence, this talk will consider the implications of technologies designed to be intimate with entire populations. Acknowledging the diverse usages of emotional AI, the talk will focus on digital out-of-home advertising and retail. Drawing on interviews with stakeholders (industry, policy makers, data protection NGOs and the legal community) and survey work on how UK citizens feel about these developments, the talk will outline why a new class of data protection provision may be required.

Nosljive, domače in javne aplikacije, ki so občutljive na emocionalno življenje, premikajo meje osebnega prostora in telesa. Njihov cilj je avtomatizacija in izvajanje potrošniške psihologije v realnem času. To vzbuja vprašanja, vezana na zasebnost, dostojanstvo, javno življenje, moralne omejitve, regulacije, pravo in splošne želje po profiliranju emocionalnega življenja. Ob ocenjevanju komercialne rabe računalniškega vida, afektivnega računalništva, strojnega učenja in emocionalne umetne inteligence, bo McStay obravnaval posledice in učinke tehnologij, oblikovanih za intimnost s celotnimi populacijami.
